Iain Reid -Interactive Designer - needs feedack

Sunday, December 9th, 2007
  • Iain Reid(Little Angel Design - http://www.la-d.co.uk/) is  doing a huge project this year as part of his dissertation (Heriot Watt- Multimedia degree course), a dynamic e-portfolio system for artists and designers. The idea being that a painter, sculptor, graphic designer or photographer could upload their work, pick a template and enter some info and a dynamic Flash e-portfolio would be created. As part of my research into target audience I decided to create a ‘cultural probe’, made up of a questionaire, an online e-portfolio review and a short design exercise, in order to gather requirements and get a ‘feel’ for what different art & design students like.

The student groups working with Iain:

  • HND Visual Communication: Graphic Design
  • HND Visual Communication: New Media
  • HND Illustration and Design
  • HND Interactive Multimedia

Iain will keep us posted on the progress…………….

The specific objectives for Symposium 3:International Education & Employability – Developing the Creative Industries:

  • inform policy and practice developments in the UK and countries in East Asia through sharing key issues in education and employability between senior educationalists and policy leaders within the Creative Industries
  • provide opportunities to identify and build future collaboration and working in this area between the region and the UK
  • develop an informal network of senior policymakers and influencers in international education and employability.

I also attended a Creative Showcase that ran in conjunction with the Symposium:
